Mount Bolton Wagyu raises and breeds full-blood wagyu on a property that sits in the shadows of Mount Bolton, 120km north-west of Melbourne and has an annual rainfall of 688mm. The last purchase of heifers was early 2017 and the property shares no fence lines with adjacent farms — given this, and that no additional animals have been introduced to the the property, the farm is operating a closed herd. The majority of the original ET recipient Angus cows have been sold leaving only a few favourites to produce F1 calves. The main herd of full-blood wagyu have been bred up from the 14 foundation heifers through AI breeding programs, run twice a year, and a mop up bull has been used since 2019.

All animals receive regular vaccinations – Ultravac 7in1, Pestiguard, Vibrovax, Pilliguard and Rotavec Carona, along with Vitamins AD & E and B12 with selenium.
